Dons Sell Out Tannadice Allocation

Aberdeen have once again sold out their allocation of 3,600 tickets for Saturday's league clash with Dundee United and The Shed will be red as always when the Dons travel to Dundee. The Red Army will descend on Dundee in their numbers and get Tannadice rocking as is aslways the case at Dundee United's ground.

Aberdeen look to bounce back at home to Hamilton

Last weekend, it is safe to say, was one of the worst weekends for Dons fans since Stevie May single handedly dumped us out of the Scottish Cup. We must move on though and despite the Scottish Cup evading our grasp for another year, we have a League Cup semi-final to look forward to and can focus on making a return to Europe.

Some may have exaggerated last weekend's situation, abysmal, dire and lacking attacking options. This is simply not the case as, personally I thought the Dons played well last week lacking in a clinical touch that will always win you games. We created many chances and were getting in behind the Dundee defence at will sometimes, therefore if we can somehow just convert our chances into goals then somebody is in for a thumping.

Hamilton travel north in almost the same mindset as they crashed out of the national competition last weekend as well to Partick Thistle. They will be looking to come to Pittodrie and claim the three points, yet I think Derek McInnes will have other ideas. A win for Aberdeen will see us jump above visitors Hamilton and continue to apply pressure to the teams above us.

Barry Robson will be the only player returning from injury for Aberdeen while Low, Robertson, Flood and Anderson all remain sidelined. Due to this I strongly think that the same team that faced Dundee will be playing this afternoon against Hamilton. The only criticism I would have of McInnes is his reluctance to give youngsters a chance. Shankland has been scoring goals for fun for the U20's yet he has yet to start a game for Aberdeen.

A close game at Pittodrie today is probably inevitable so we will go with a 1-0 Aberdeen win.

Daylight Robbery At Pittodrie As Celts Steal Points

It was a disappointing remembrance Sunday for Aberdeen who played brilliantly for the majority of the game and if you can find anybody who would say the Dons didn't deserve anything from that game, find them and bring them to me!

McInnes stuck to his usual formation which featured Rooney leading the line while the visitors set up to attempt to nullify Aberdeen's attacking threat.

The first half witnessed an end to end affair as Aberdeen soaked up the Celtic pressure and were counter attacking effectively. The Dons opened the scoring ten minutes before the break through Rooney who managed to bundle the ball over the line following Celtic keeper Zaluska dropping the ball.

It was parity at Pittodrie at half time however as Johansen's shot deflected off Reynolds and into the net.

The second period was predominantly Aberdeen who were creating the goal scoring opportunities. McGinn passed up some chances which he will be disappointed did not find the net. If he did we could have saw ourselves a couple of goals clear, yet we were not and were made to pay.

A last minute corner (which should never have been awarded) was tapped home by Van Dijk as the ball fell to him in the six yard box. Celtic left with the points in their black and white striped Jersey with a black mask and black rucksack. Robbed.

Despite it being such a sickening result we must remember seasons are not won and lost in a single match so we have to move on. Onto Partick Thistle we go!

Dons Edge Past Well In Dull Affair

Aberdeen managed to take all three points from, it would have to be said, Aberdeen's most boring match of the season so far. An early strike from Hayes, who was the standout out performer, was enough to claim the points at home against Motherwell for the first time since November 2008.

It was a dream start for the Dons who played some neat one touch football to slip Hayes in on goal. He did not disappoint the 11,000 or so fans who had turned up and showed excellent composure to slot home.

Hayes was almost through on goal moments later but his chipped effort was only just over the bar, but didn't trouble Motherwell goalkeeper Twardzik.

The half trundled on as both teams looked to get a proper foothold in the match.

The second half was much the same as the first, minus a goal and chances were extremely hard to come by for both sides.

McGinn had several efforts which he probably should have do e better with and the home crowd were becoming frustrated with the drab affair which was being exhibited.

Aberdeen managed to hold off a mimi Motherwell revival to claim the victory.
