Right from the off St Johnstone looked threatening, and in the sixth minute an in-swinging corner was met by the head of Frazer Wright, the header looked destined to go in, but Hughes cleared of the line. McGinn picked up the ball wide right on the half hour mark, cut inside and tried a low curling effort that got deflected away for a corner. Moments later Tade for St Johnstone was 1 on 1 with keeper Langfield and tried to slot the ball into the corner, but Langfield made a good save with his feet and managed to get the ball clear. It was a poor miss it had to be said. Almost immediately after tade was through again, after a shocking mistake by make-shift centre half Isaac Osbourne, Tade rounded the keeper and slotted home. Aberdeen mustered, and on the 38th minunte McGinn swung in a cross to the back post, to Fallon but he got the ball caught under his feet and the ball was cleared. Seconds before half time Aberdeens best play of the half was rewrded with a goal. Magennis produced a sublime cross, that was met by Mcginn who volleyed into the roof of the net.
Aberdeen came in the second half the better team and were looking the more likely to score. McGinn fired in from long range that struck the side netting of the St Johnstone goal and St Johnstone were reminded of the menace McGinn possessd. But as usual from the Dons, no real clear cut chance was created and they were made to pay. Liam Craig floated in a corner from the right, Langfield failed to gather and Rowan Vine knocked the ball into the net from close range. From there on in it was all down hill. Exactly three minutes later, a cut back from Steven McLean to David Mckay unmarked in the box who finished by slamming the ball home, saw Aberdeen 3-1 down and stunned. They never recovered from the double blow and the remaining 15 minutes was some of the worst football i have witnessed from Aberdeen this season, they continuously gave away the ball and passing was extremely slack. All-in-all a diabolical display from the Dons see the season becoming worse and worse. Vernon and Fallon started up front together tonight, a combination i would never like to see again.
