Dundee Utd v Aberdeen Preview

So it is the last game before the split and both Dundee Utd and Aberdeen will be fighting it out on Saturday for that last top six place, depending on the Kilmarnock score. Both Dundee Utd and Aberdeen are banking on Dundee to either beat or draw with Killie. Both teams have not lived up to expectations this season and should probably think they should be fighting for a european spot not a top six one, purely due to the fact they have strong squads. It could be said both clubs have under-achieved this season. The last two encounters between the teams this season has seen two draws, will this be another?

Dundee Utd will be without Russell, Mackay-Steven and Armstrong on Saturday. This is certainly a blow for Utd as all three players are a nucleus in the team and have been fantastic this season. Dundee Utd have drawn their last three of their last four games and lost the other. Utd have certainly been better away from home this season, winning only three games at home this season and drawing nine. They will be looking to get that fourth home win of the season and hope it is enough to sneak them into that sixth spot.

Aberdeen will come into the game high on confidence after beating Hearts 2-0 convincingly at Pittodrie. The Dons are expected to bring massive number to Tannadice and if they sell out will have more allocated seats than Utd. Incredible. The game will be Craig Brown's last ever game as a manager and h will want to end his career on a high, so hopefully the players can rise to the occasion. Aberdeen still have the same players out injured and are expected to take the same squad to Tannadice as they fielded against Hearts. Aberdeen have had a good record away from home this season, so lets hope that continues into saturday. The game is a must win for Aberdeen if they have any chance of a top six place, but they also rely on Dundee to beat or draw with Kilmarnock. So get yourself allong to Tannadice and paint the shed red!
