McInnes Eyes Flying Start

Derek McInnes is determined to make all the necessary and correct preparations to make sure that his Aberdeen team hit the ground running at the beginning of the new season.
Despite currently being unbeaten as Dons manager Derek McInnes was aware that Aberdeen under-achieved last season and the home record was atrocious in terms of draws and goals scored, he vowed to the Aberdeen fans that he will rectufy this situation. He has proved that by signing Robson and Zola both attacking minded players that will both create and score goals.

A home tie against Kilmarnock on the first game of the season will be a good chance for Aberdeen to collect all 3 points and get off to a good start to the 2013/14 season.

McInnes said - “It’s so important we get off to a good start in terms of re-enforcing belief about the club.

“We need to hit the ground running in the new season as we want to try and raise confidence within the club.

“I’d certainly take a fast start if it was offered to me but you don’t get prizes as players after the first few games. Aberdeen have made positive starts in the past then didn’t push on to fulfil that early promise.

“But like every supporter, I can’t wait for the season to start and hope the players return with the same enthusiasm that I have.”
