Aberdeen have been playing terrifically well over the last four weeks mustering a total of nine goals and conceding none. The players at Pittodrie are really starting to click together and this is being proved through the results of matches and the way they are playing. There is a really good understanding between the players now. Derek McInnes however is understandably trying to keep a lid on things. He has told the players not to get caught up in the hype and to stay focused and on task. He said they are taking it one game at a time. If the current Aberdeen team wasn't enought for St Mirren to cope with, Niall McGinn and Barry Robson could be set for return to the side after several weeks out between them. Anderson, Clark and Flood all remain out.
If the bad results wasn't enough to contend with Danny Lennon has a few selection problems for Monday evening as Danny Grainger stupidly got himself sent off in their defeat to Hibs last week. Also Mark McAusland picked up a training ground injury and the Saints manager will hand him a late fitness test. St Mirren will be asked to nullify the Dons attacking threat tomorrow but that will be a mammoth task as goals seem to be coming from every area of the park at the moment for Aberdeen. Low on confidence and struggling to even get draws, Lennon has a massive amount of pressure on him and he knows that himself.
Mark Reynolds Previewed the game tomorrow evening
-
"We showed against Inverness - who are one of the most physical teams in the country - that if it turns into a scrap, we are more than willing to scrap with teams.
"We are all big boys who can take care of ourselves. If
people want to fight, we will go toe-to-toe with them. But we also know we can
get the ball down and play.
"St Mirren are struggling but a win will come.
Something will click and they will find a winning performance from somewhere.
"We just need to hope that it doesn't come against
ourselves.
"The main thing we need to worry about is that the
Aberdeen team that's been turning up for the last three games turns up on
Monday night."
