Aberdeen have asked the SPFL for an extra 10,000 League Cup
Final tickets on the 16th March due to the Red Army's high demand. Tickets have
not yet gone on general sale and it is thought that the club have sold well
over 25,000 tickets to Dons supporters already. The area of the ground where the
Inverness fans will be housed has room for manoeuvre with Aberdeen fans being
able to fit in in the top tier if necessary.
If the extra ticket request is granted then that will ease
the pressure for fans and the club in terms of having enough tickets to go
around. The extra ten thousand will bring Aberdeen's allocation up to and around
about 40,000 a very impressive sum. The general sale will probably sell out
those extra tickets, so fans will need to be on the button to snap them up and
secure their seats. The shear amount of tickets wanted by the Aberdeen fans
shows what a tremendous support the club actually has (just a shame not all of
these people turn out on match days). However no wonder that the demand is
rocketing for tickets, as the Dons have not reached a cup final in 14 years and
everybody is longing to see them there once again.
