Despite being a match where gaining points would be a bonus, Craig Brown said that he intended to take points off of current champions Celtic. It will be a tough ask for the out of form Aberdeen side if they are to go to Celtic park and take any points at all. The last time they won at Celtic Park in the league was October 2004.
Although Craig Brown knows his future is not manager at Aberdeen FC he says he is still focused and will not be distracted by his decision and wants to finish his career on a high. Hopefully the players can respond to this and take the game to Celtic. Still with only 5 goals this year Aberdeen will surely need to change that if they are to take anything away from Parkhead. Clark Robertson and the other usual injuries will still be out but the rest of the squad should be fit for Saturday. A win would make an exciting finish to the run up to the split as it would see the Dons right back in it with a chance for sixth place.
Celtic will be looking to bounce back off of a 3-2 defeat to Ross County in the highlands last week. Niel Lennon doesn't have any room for error in his regime, but now that the title is almost surely wrapped up the Celtic players are showing some complacency in their performances. The hoops are unbeaten against Aberdeen in their last 15 matches, winning 13 and drawing 2. However, Celtic have lost their last two SPL matches to Motherwell and Ross County. Could Aberdeen make it three in a row?
