Aberdeen Sign Nicky Weaver

Aberdeen have this evening confirmed their next summer signing in the form of keeper Nicky Weaver. The club have confirmed that the keeper has signed a six month loan deal with the club.

The 34 year old keeper has been many places in his career. He has formerly played for England under 21s, Manchester City, Charlton Athletic, Dundee United and Burnley. Weaver became a free agent in the summer when he was released by Sheffield Wednesday. Nicky Weaver will join the rest of the squad at their training camp in Dublin.

Derek McInnes was delighted to capture the keeper -
"To get such an experienced and talented goalkeeper is important and to get him during the pre-season stage is great for him in terms of being able to integrate with the boys.

"We had a few avenues and other options but we feel with the signing of Nicky we've recruited well and Nicky's eagerness and willingness to come here was pivotal."
