As always the speculation and buzz for the coming season is building up and supporters are reserving their season tickets all apprehensive for the new season. Could this be the year of red, could this be the year that Aberdeen try and regain some of the past success. Well lets hope so as the Red Army faithful are placing their hopes into the arms of manger Derek McInnes. McInnes is proving to be a strong character and someone who is meaning business and not to muck around. With quotes such as "We want to make the city proud of their team again" and "Lets put the fire back into Aberdeen, something that has been missing over the last couple of years". This is fighting talk from a a manager when he first came in.
However the new manager has proved he is not all talk as he is backing his plans up with decent and reasonable signings. Players such as Robson and Flood will bolster the midfield and Wylde and Zola will add fire, pace and physical presence to the attacking line up. A good mix of upcoming youngsters and experience is being created as well.
Whilst other teams in the league have been losing players and rashly snatching up any players that com their way, Aberdeen have been more careful and precise about building their squad. The quality is definitely their as the team have proved in their pre-season matches but their is still some ironing out and refining to do. With the current squad Aberdeen definitely have a good chance to finish second in the table and there is no reason for them not to barring injuries and suspensions.
Hopefully we will have a considerable amount of luck next season, a quantity of which we have been largely lacking over the last few seasons. I have sat through many a game and watched vital decisions go against us and seeing the game slip through our fingers. As much as it is down to the players to perform on the day and come away with the result the fans need to do their part too. As a fellow Dons fan i ask you all, that through the hard times that will inevitably come, to stick with the team and keep showing your support. Because without you, where will the team be? No player wants to be playing in a silent stadium with no atmosphere. Almost every player thrives off a clubs supporters, so show your support for Derek McIness' red and white army for the 2013/14 season. With your help, support and willingness and the teams fight, quality and Drive this could be our season!
COME ON YOU REDS!
