Now that the pressure of scoring his first goal has been lifted Zola can now play with more ease and be the player McInnes bought him to be. It also must be remembered that the striker had next to no pre-season so was running dramatically low on match fitness compared to his team mates.
Derek McInnes added his thoughts:
“Calvin is like any other striker. They want to see the ball hit the back of the net and that goal will help him.
“When a new striker goes to a new club they want to get off
the mark as quickly as possible. For various reasons it has taken a bit longer
than he anticipated.
“We also got Josh up and running last week as well and I’m
sure he will continue to do well.”
