Aberdeen v Inverness CT Match Preview

Can the Dons be the first team to defeat Butcher's Thistle this season as they are sitting pretty at the top of the table with sixteen points. Aberdeen currently find themselves wedged between Motherwell and Dundee Utd in fourth spot, and McInnes will be looking to improve upon that league position come the end of Saturday's game.

Aberdeen are still waiting for news on McGinn to see if he will be fit in time for the game, while Robson is still trying to recover to full fitness following his knee surgery. Hayes is expected to be in the starting line off as he has shrugged off a knock he picked up last week against Partick. Lengthy injury are still Willo Flood, Russel Anderson and Chris Clark.
The Dons will be looking to build on last weeks success at Firhill when McInnes' Reds ease to victory. Derek McInnes believes that Inverness are not unbeatable and thinks that his Dons side has what it takes to put on a good show and get the points on Saturday. There has been much contraversy over the last week amongst Dons fans involving 'the huddle' that the Aberdeen players did before the match began against Partick Thistle. The decision to do this was met by a mixed reception by the Dons fans but both the Dons manager and players said it was just purely because the squad have such a strong bond and it helped them with confidence before the match. Aberdeen despite there injury list have the potential to beat Inverness. The width and trickery of Hayes Wylde and Pawlett should prove to be a touch job for Butcher's defenders and with Zola opening his Dons account last week that could be the catalyst to kickstart his scoring spree. Aberdeen definitely have th tools to unlock and undo Inverness CT at the weekend it just depends what Dons team turns up and how they use those tools will be the key factor.

Inverness are in stark contrast to Aberdeen in the way of injuries. Terry Butcher has been able to field the exact same team week after week with no worries about injuries or fitness issues. This obvioulsy gives the side a huge boost to morale and understanding between each other and has obviously benefited Thistle as they are up at the right end of the table.

Saturday's match should be an interesting encounter between two teams who were tipped to do well before the season even started. A large crowd is once again expected at Pittodrie despite the dip in form excluding last weeks win. Derek McInnes and his men will be looking to be the first team to defeat Terry and his team of highlanders (well most of them come from England).
