Aberdeen v Dundee Utd Preview

It's the return of the "New Firm" derby on Saturday when the Dons play hosts to Dundee Utd. Aberdeen will be looking to get their league form back on track after taking only a single point against St Mirren and Ross County. On the other hand United have started to build up a bit of momentum being unbeaten in their last four matches, albeit two of them being draws. Aberdeen sit in fourth while the men from Dundee are just inside the top six in sixth position and
Both teams are separated by only a single point. This Premiership match looks to be the pick of the bunch of the weekend. It should be an extremely close game and you get the feeling whoever is up for it most on the day might just edge it.

Dundee Utd have a few fitness issues for the Premiership clash on Saturday against rivals Aberdeen. Souttar and Gauld who were away on International duty have been put through a tough and heavy schedule of games and Jackie MacNamara is unhappy at their physical state. Gauld picked up a knock against Belarus and will need to be assessed before being available for the game. The Tangerines will bolstered by the return of Morgaro Gomis who has returned to the club on a loan deal that sees him there until the end of the season.

The international break has helped Aberdeen in the way of injuries and probably gave them a chance to regroup after a minor blip in results. All casualties are back for the Dons except Calvin Zola as he picked up a knock in the match against St Mirren and is still recovering from it. Anderson, Magennis, Clark and Robson are all back in training and anyone of them could possibly make an appearance on the field or bench.
A big Aberdeen home support is expected for the game, hence the reason the top tier of the Richard Donald Stand has been opened. Hopefully the boys can go out and put on a good show and come away with a decent result. To be brutally honest these are the games we need to win (not draw) if we are to contend for second place.
