McInnes Wishing For Robson Return

Dons gaffer Derek McInnes is hoping that arguably his best summer signing could make a return against his former club Dundee United on Saturday. Robson has been out injured since the opening game of the season, where Aberdeen prevailed over Kilmarnock 2-1. Since then he has undergone knee surgery and has been concentrating on getting back into shape.

The 34 year old midfielder has been working round the clock to get back fighting fit as soon as possible, and this week that payed off when he returned to training.

McInnes said:
“It’s early days. We’ve still got a couple of training sessions to get through before Saturday’s game and we will see how he is."
“Certainly, since the start of the week, it’s been very encouraging."
“You can’t ignore a player of his experience and his quality in any game, never mind such a good game as the United game.”
