Dons Duo Sign New Deals

This afternoon two youngsters put pen to paper to extend their contracts with Aberdeen football club. Cammy Smith and Danny Rogers have extended their current contracts with the club, and obviously see their futures in the north east of Scotland. It says a lot for the club that two youngsters that are at a good level could possibly go elsewhere and earn more money, but have instead chose to stay in Scotland and enhance their playing ability.

Danny Rogers signed another one year contract and is currently out on loan at Airdrieonians gaining first team experience. A valuable period of time for the goalkeeper who has not had a chance to even get into the team due to Langfield's dominating displays in goal.

Smith has signed with the club until the summer of 2017, a great piece of business for Aberdeen. Cammy Smith, an Aberdeen fan himself was delighted to be pulled aside by the manager and offered a new contract. He told media that he needed no convincing in staying at Aberdeen. Still only 18 years old, Smith made his debut for the club in April 2012 and has gone on to make 20 first team appearances scoring twice also. Smith is seen as one of the more talented youngsters and this deal is important as it allows Aberdeen to keep hold of him for a while longer. A major contributing factor to agreeing to the new deal is the atmosphere around the club.

"My family and I are delighted and honoured to be part of this football club and hopefully I can help bring success to Aberdeen.
"It was a no brainer to stay here and to try and progress and play regular first-team football. I really enjoy working with Derek and [assistant] Tony [Docherty].

"I think the whole city is excited about what is happening here. As players though we need to just keep our heads down and keep working hard and let you [the media] do all the talking.
