Aberdeen will be looking to make it three league wins on the bounce come late Saturday afternoon when the boys take on Inverness CT. However it will not be as easy as that! Inverness are still going strong in second place at the moment and will be looking for revenge from the last time the two sides met. Aberdeen prevailed 1-0 victors with a Vernon goal, but will it be the same outcome today? There is no reason for it not to be.
Aberdeen have no new injury concerns for the match, but remaining out with a knee injury is Clark Robertson. Cammy Smith, who just extended his contract with the club should be fit for the game as he took a knock during a midweek U20s game. Derek McInnes and his side will be coming into the match full of confidence. By now the squad know that on their day they can beat anybody, that is evident in some of the matches that the Dons have played this season. This must be seen as a crucial game, as a win for Aberdeen will take us on to the same amount of points as the Highlanders despite them having a game in hand. A defeat would be a bitter blow in all honesty and we can't afford to lose games like this if we are to challenge for second place. Adverse weather conditions will also play a big part in the game this afternoon, but the Dons have shown they can more than cope as they did last week against St Mirren.
Inverness CT still do not have James Vincent back in action following his leg fracture. Under new management there has seemed to be a seamless transition with John Hughes coming in as new manager. However today will be Hughes' first real test and hopefully he fails miserably...
Prediction - Inverness CT 1-2 Aberdeen
Inverness CT v Aberdeen
Sat 21st December 2013
