Adam Rooney Set For North East

Adam Rooney today is rumoured to be having a medical in the granite city and is set to join the Dons later this week permanently. Rooney who has endured a tough time down south with Birmingham City and Oldham Athletic will be looking to make a return to Scottish football and he obviously feels that Aberdeen is the right place for him.

The former Inverness CT  striker enjoyed a good spell at the highlanders, managing to net 53 goals across three seasons.  He then moved down to England joining Birmingham City before moving to Oldham where his goals tally more than dried up. Things have not quite worked out for the Irishman and he will be hoping that a move to the Dons will be a good one.

McInnes stated on BBC Sportsound yesterday evening that the number of young players who left the club on loan until the end of the season have freed up funds. Also the departure of Greg Wylde has left a hole in the attacking line up and this needs to be filled. Goodwillie still appears to be an option for McInnes but he also covered that topic stating that Blackburn have a decision to make over him.
