Inverness CT v Aberdeen Preview

Aberdeen will be looking to get back to winning ways against the Highlanders on Friday evening as they attempt to recover from the setback of Sunday's Scottish cup semi-final defeat. Many will feel deflated after losing out so narrowly on another cup final and that's including the players however there is still a job to do. We are in the driving seat for securing second place sitting three points ahead of Motherwell and nine ahead of Dundee United. As much as it now looks as if the Tangerines are out of the picture we still have to fight off the steel men who are hot on our heels and three points would go a long way to do that.

There is some promising injury news for a change. Jonny Hayes has been back training with the squad and could be in contention for making the team, however, maybe not the starting eleven. Last weeks absentees Zola and Tate have come through slight niggles and will feature however more than likely from the bench. Ryan Jack is not available through suspension as he has accumulated too many yellow cards over the past few games. McInnes will more than likely start the same team as featured on Sunday but it wouldn't be a surprise if Anderson was rested, pushing Considine to centre back with the possible re-introduction of Clark Robertson. Inverness have a couple of injury issues with Foran missing the rest if the season and Shinnie will miss out in facing the trip north from the Dons.

The last trip north to Inverness was an eventful one to say the least with the Dons netting four times before the break and then eventually scraping through the game by a single goal. The Red Army will be hoping for another enthralling game but maybe a less nail biting encounter. Aberdeen have a decent record at Inverness' ground with tonight's match being the 15th league meeting between the teams at the stadium. Aberdeen have prevailed on eight occasions to Inverness' three. Let's hope that promising stat continues this evening.

The Red Army are expected to travel in numbers once again with about a thousand Dons fans expected to make the trip. A healthy number considering the match is on a Friday night and on television.
