Derek McInnes has made it clear over the past several weeks that he is looking to bolster the squad on the flanks as the team lack depth in those areas. Will Wolves winger Zeli Ismail the answer to his problems? It would appear if that may be the case as the speculation has grown arms and legs regarding the Albanian winger moving north of the border to Aberdeen.
The move would only be a temporary one for the 20 year-old however as Wolves still regard Ismail as having great potential and could go on to bigger and better things sometime soon. Not before he helps out the Dons though. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Burton Albion where he made a big impact helping the League Two side reach the play offs.
If Derek wishes to get the player on board, he will have to do so before the end of Friday so that he will be eligible to compete against Groningen FC in the next round of Europa League qualifying.
So it does look as if this move is very much on the cards and we shall have to wait and see how it pans out over the next few days.
However McInnes is clearly focused on getting through this game on Thursday night versus Daugava Riga where Aberdeen take a five goal advantage. Daugava Riga should pose no threat to Aberdeen considering they have to surmount a five goal deficit and look incapable of doing so as shown at Pittodrie last Thursday night.
