Can Dons Bounce Back?

Aberdeen entertain Partick Thistle at Pittodrie this afternoon as they look to get the beginning of the season back on track after the first three games have already been defeats. After pundits and punters tips of Aberdeen to easily walk second play this year, so far it's looks far from it. Can the pressure be getting to the team, are we simply not as good as people think we are, are teams just upping their game against the Dons. These are all questions that have been flying around since the disappointing defeat to St Johnstone. 

Now though the Aberdeen players have a chance to banish the phantoms of doubt with a convincing performance against Partick Thistle today. A win is vital, as already we are beginning to fall behind in the table but there is no need for panic. 

Today McInnes does not have Jeffrey Monakana at his disposal as the winger is still having issues with his back. At the back Anderson and Taylor took knocks over the two previous weeks but look to be fit for the encounter at Pittodrie.

Thistle like to play a more open and expansive game and hopefully this will hide well for the Dons team as they will not have to spend the majority of the game breaking down a defence who are just sitting static, clearing everything that comes their way. This fixture last season produced a wonderful 11 goals over three games and we will be hoping for more of the same today, the goals all in Aberdeen's favour of course. A game where both teams love to get the ball down and play is always promising for a quality and action packed game of football!
