Flood With Dons For Long Run

Some brilliant news has emerged from Pittodrie and that is that Willo Flood has agreed to renew the terms of his current contract and extend his stay at Aberdeen until the summer of 2017. This is a fantastic piece of business that McInnes has managed to mastermind again showing his shrewdness in football.

This deal could prove to be a key one for the Dons as Flood, offers not only a substantial amount of knowledge on the pitch but also off of it. Undoubtedly the Irishman has proved to be an influential player at the club since his arrival in the summer of 2013 and to get him on board for the long run can only be a bonus.

The tenacity and energy Flood exhibits in the middle of the park is something that any aspiring midfielders should look up to and take note of. We can call Flood the silent assassin of the Aberdeen side as the majority of the time his tireless work goes gliding under the radar and he very rarely seems to highly praised or pick up man of the match awards. However his efforts are just as important as Rooney's goals and Anderson's tremendous tackles. He can be seen as the engine room of the team and Willo Flood is what keeps the Dons team ticking over during a game, chasing down balls, picking passes, harassing opponents.

On that note we thank you Willo Flood, and keep up the super performances!
