Attacked By Foxes

In the big picture the event seems rather comical, however not Aberdeen FC and the Pittodrie ground staff. Over the past few days the brand new Pittodrie pitch has come under attack by a family of urban foxes.

The foxes have been digging up the brand new turf that Aberdeen forked out over 100,000 pounds for. The ground staff have coped with the incident well and are now carrying out daily repairs to get the pitch back in tip top condition. The foxes have made a burrow at the back of the South Stand, and have taken their seats for the coming season a bit too early. As much as a laughing matter it seems it is not as the club will now need to pay for these repairs.

Aberdeen first match on the new turf will be in their final preparations for the new season, when they take on FC Twente at Pittodrie on Friday 26th July.
