Aberdeen came through a tricky cup tie winning 6-5 on penalties against Alloa. Aberdeen mainly dominated throughout the game but just failed to find the elusive breakthrough. Credit has to go to Paul Hartley's team as well though as they held firm in defence and were resilient throughout.
Langfield was the hero on the night as he got a good hand to and saved Alloa's 5th penalty. His save means that Aberdeen win their first penalty shootout since beating Falkirk at Pittodrie in 1999. The most important thing though is that we are through and are in the draw for the 3rd round.
