Celtic v Aberdeen Preview

Aberdeen will be looking to win the match and come away from the home of the champions with all three points. However this will take some doing from the men in red as Celtic have still not been defeated all season and the last time Aberdeen won at Celtic Park was back in 2004.

Derek McInnes will treat this just as any other game but this time the pressure is not on the Dons to get the result. McInnes has put a different slant on the approach to the game at Celtic Park this time. He has said that he is not abandoning his attacking line up to try and get a result. Celtic are weak defensively as they have only mustered a total of three clean sheets this season. Aberdeen will also be boosted by the fact that Hayes, Langfield and Pawlett all committed their careers to the club in the foreseeable future by signing contract extensions earlier this week. There is goals to be had out of this Celtic team and the Dons will need to exploit this and take their oppertunities well if they are to get anything out the game. There is no doubt in any Dons fan's mind that the team will put in a good performance with all players giving it 100%, however Aberdeen will need to find that extra gear to beat Celtic. They have shown that they have it in them many times this season, and the desire to succeed will be even greater as the men from the granite city look to avenge the defeat earlier in the season.McInnes has much to ponder over before even arriving in Glasgow tomorrow as he faces several selection queries. Barry Robson is suspended due to the red card he received against Hearts last time out. Flood, Robertson and Magennis remain sidelined however Josh did make an appearance for the U20s midweek but was replaced only 12 minutes in as a precaution. Chris Clark and Craig Murray are in a better place than what they were but are still currently looking to get back up to the appropriate fitness levels and are very unlikely to feature.

Celtic and Neil Lennon also have a selection dilemma as they have a few injury issues of their own and of course the upcoming all important champions league match against AC Milan. James Forrest is struggling with a hamstring injury and will be out of the squad on Saturday. Also defenders Adam Mathews and Steven Mouyokolo remain out as well. It is very much a case of priorities for the Celtic manager this Saturday as he must take the game against AC Milan into consideration. Does he rest some players and risk slipping up to Aberdeen and break their unbeaten record, or he could potentially put out his strongest side and risk injuries for the champions league clash!
