Following being stretchered off the pitch at Motherwell last Saturday, the midfielder went for an x-ray on his hip where it was believed the damage was done. It unfortunately proved to be right as the scan showed that Ryan Jack had suffered a double tear in his hip putting him out for up to 6-8 weeks.
This is not only extremely bad news for the player, but for the club and McInnes as well as Jack has played a key part in Aberdeen's success so far this season. Jack will now miss Saturday's semi-final versus St Johnstone at the weekend.
